The Malaysian Business Angel Network Summit is back again for the year, with a brand new rebrand as the ASEAN Angel Alliance Summit 2018. Hosted by the Malaysian Business Angel Network (MBAN) and with Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd as the main sponsor, the summit will be held at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur on the 27th and 28th of November 2018.
Since its inaugural summit in 2015, the MBAN summit has a well-established reputation as a place where magic happens within the community; presenting them with unique opportunities for all the stakeholders to connect, engage and contribute to the advancement of angel investment. This year, the ASEAN Angel Alliance Summit 2018 aims to be an esteemed continuation of its predecessors with even bigger inclusivity by taking on the regional ASEAN angel investment community.
In addition to the invaluable opportunities it opens to its delegates, the summit will also be officiated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Tun Dr Mahathir and the closing remarks are to be delivered by the Finance Minister of Malaysia, YB Lim Guan Eng. Not only that, other esteemed international keynote speakers such as Noni Purnomo of Blue Bird Indonesia named as ‘Power Women in Asia in 2015’ by Forbes and Thomas Tsao of Gobi Ventures China named as “China’s Top Venture Capitalists” will be speaking as well during the summit.
Most excitingly, the summit will premier an ASEAN-wide pitching competition, “Enter the Tiger’s Lair”, where elite startups from each participating ASEAN country compete for a chance to attend and participate in the Summit. Only the 10 best startups selected via a regional competition will be given the unique opportunity to pitch to a 200-angel-investor audience at the Summit itself.
Speaking on behalf of MBAN, its President Dr. Sivapalan Vivekarajah shares his hopes of how the summit will function as a platform for attendees to get premier access to some of the most successful angel investors in the world, and to gain insights into best practices that help navigate likely successes and potential failures. In the long run, this will increase and encourage cross-border angel investing opportunities and benefit all the stakeholders in the community.
Seats are limited and Summit Passes start from RM500 each. For further details, please visit: http://www.aseanangel.com
