#InstaMade: Serena C Uncovers the Secret of Successful Southeast Asia Instagram Entrepreneurs

The global digital radio station for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs, eFM, launched its new series #InstaMade in the newly opened Fred Segal store in 1Utama. Hosted by Serena C, the renowned emcee, radio announcer, and regional TV host, #InstaMade is a vodcast series that features accomplished ‘Insta-preneurs’ and businesses that achieved success through Instagram. This series inaugurates the Instagram Business Community initiative by Global Entrepreneurship Movement Association in its efforts to highlight and bridge technologies to businesses. This community will be actively part of the lead up to upcoming Southeast Asia’s #InstaMadeLIVE2019, a conference and awards to validate and recognize Instagram entrepreneurs; scheduled to take place in March 2019. “Southeast Asia is a region with 150 million digital consumers and with about 30% of online sales occurred through social networks in 2016, empowering entrepreneurs to utilize its business potential gains has never been more crucial,” commented Low Ngai Yuen, Chief Executive of eFM.

Launched amongst its core community – the local Instagram entrepreneurs, local celebrities, and well-known Instagram influencers; the launch features Coffee Talk by Serena C, with Nana Mahazan, Elyn (Rawsome) and Noriana, on experiences, trends and tips of doing businesses on Instagram. The event is also graced with a special appearance by Sophia Liana (DeFam) & Shalma Ainaa on their newly launched Instagram based business, SophiaShal by Nori which is also featured in the #InstaMade series.

Focused on showcasing a creative and convenient form of e-commerce through social media that is prevalent amongst the next generations, #InstaMade aims to share tips, strategies and provide the how-tos for Instagram businesses to thrive. The collaboration between #InstaMade and Fred Segal will also highlight the ways social media marketing can push beyond the smartphone and social media to compliment brick and mortar retail. “It’s been inspiring. I myself have learned so much of the potential of running a business through Instagram. It is game changing. I am so proud to be on board with people who are as excited as I am about the topic”, shared Serena C during the event.

Hailing all the way from Los Angeles; Fred Segal Malaysia, launched in September, is staying true to its concept of multi-brand, specialty curated-shop. Fred Segal partners with #InstaMade to curate unique retail scene that provides a platform and support for Insta Businesses to feature their products onto a pop-up store in their retail and café store located in 1Utama. This collaboration is envisioned to be a fresh breath of air to both physical stores and virtual Insta Shops; creating a new form of browsing while allowing the best of both worlds in nurturing entrepreneurship. “True to our NGO’s core mission of empowering entrepreneurs through technology, we are excited to partner with Fred Segal, a prominent brand in lifestyle to bring to live a tribe and community of Instagram businesses,” enthused Deborah Melissa Bottreau, President of the Global Entrepreneurship Movement Association.
